Metal Bars in Paris

Metal Bars in Paris

Paris has consistently been the number one most visited city in the world but what many don’t know is that the ultra famous romantic city is also a hidden gem for metalheads. Home to a vibrant metal scene that’s evident in its many bars and club whether you’re a die-hard fan or a curious newcomer, the metal bars in Paris offer a unique experience that blends a love for great music, community, and the city’s unique culture. Here are some of the venues I’ve consistently gone back to through the years:

Le Black Dog:

Conveniently located right at the heart of the old district in the 4th arrodissement, this metal bar / Argentinian steak house is a great spot and quite a staple in the metal scene of Paris. I particularly love Le Black Dog because it’s easily accessible with lots of metro lines going around it, they play great music, and their food is consistently yummy for a fair price.

Le Black Dog’s decor is quite cool with a few surprising elements like an alien sculpture hanging from a corner, a dungeon like area underground and an overall really cool dark and gothic atmosphere sure to satisfy your dark side. They also promote many events keeping the local metal community alive and thriving. Check them out on instagram here.

Le Petite Bain:

Located a little outside the city center in the 13th arrondisement, Le Petit Bain is well worth the visit as this docked party boat guarantees to show you a good time. The boat has a basement with an intimate concert stage and bar. At the top of the boat there’s another bar and really cool hang out area where you can enjoy drinks and the beautiful views.

Check them out on instagram here and their website here.

Dr FeelGood & Rock Beer Temple:

Located right at the heart

Hellfest Corner: Unfortunately recently closed

Just a few steps away from Le Black Dog, this tribute bar to the very famous Hellfest festival has unfortunately closed its doors this year.

Venues like Le Gibus, nestled in the heart of the 11th arrondissement, boast an impressive lineup of local and international metal bands, while providing an intimate atmosphere for fans.

La Mécanique Ondulatoire, located in the Bastille district, offers a rustic charm and is famous for hosting punk and heavy metal nights—a must-visit for those looking to immerse themselves in raw, energetic performances. Another popular spot, L’International, doubles as a café and concert venue, showcasing emerging metal acts while serving craft beers and artisanal snacks.
